MANNA Youth Programs is excited to share that for the new school year, we will be reintroducing School Pantries after having to close the program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While our MANNA Packs program provides boxes of food to kids in need across WNC, school pantries that emphasize grab-and-go foods can offer them more freedom of choice, inconspicuous access to free food, and less stigma about food insecurity. It is easy for a school to set up a pantry in nearly any space, MANNA will provide food, and schools are welcome to supplement our deliveries with food drives or sponsors.
For families with children living with food insecurity, who may receive free or reduced meals at school, summer break can be a tough time. As students return to school this fall, MANNA is looking forward to onboarding school partners with this revived program to help keep students’ bellies full.
