Big changes are happening at MANNA! In the new year, we are launching into the next phases of our facility upfit project. Right now, we’re making some changes to our parking lot to create a more welcoming entrance and clearer traffic flow, all while rearranging our warehouse and Volunteer Center.
Soon, we will begin demolishing and then rebuilding about a third of the building with beautiful and functional spaces for our office staff, visitors, and volunteers, and neighbors! We are also nearly ready to move into our new, 16,000-square foot refrigerator and freezer.
We acquired this property just days after Hurricane Helene, because we needed a space from which to respond for our community in need, but we always knew it would require major changes to become a long-term food bank.
We are endlessly grateful for all of the donors, partners, and supporters from across the country who have made this renovation project possible – your contributions will help build a functional and inviting home from which MANNA will serve WNC for decades to come.
If you are visiting or volunteering at MANNA in the coming months, please: steer clear of construction zones, follow signage, listen carefully to staff instructions, and keep an eye out for email communication from our staff regarding parking, entrances, and safety.
The construction situation is changing constantly, and safety is our utmost priority. Thank you so much for your cooperation during this exciting project!
