When SNAP benefits were disrupted due to the government shutdown, we set out with an ambitious goal to raise $200,000 directly for food purchasing, to ensure that all of our neighbors had enough food to get through the crisis. But MANNA’s community, as always, blew our expectations out of the water, allowing us to raise over $290,000 in one month.
With that funding, MANNA can purchase enough food to fill more than 19 box trucks with free groceries for WNC neighbors in need. Each and every dollar will go towards ensuring that your neighbors can sit down to a nutritious meal this holiday season.
We are especially grateful for our donors who offered $50,000 of matching gifts, allowing community gifts to go twice as far towards feeding our neighbors.
