Hershey, Pa. — The Hershey Company (NYSE:HSY) has issued a voluntary recall of three products sold under the SoFit brand after a supplier who provides sunflower seeds for the products expanded its recall on June 1.
The supplier SunOpta issued a recall after discovering that it produced sunflower seeds that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Bounce USA of Bend, Oregon is voluntary recalling the Bounce Apple Cinnamon Protein Punch Energy Balls (newly named Apple Cinnamon Protein Energy Balls) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
This recall was initiated when the supplier, SunOpta, notified us of the sunflower kernels expanded recall due to the possibility that some sunflower kernels may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
PLANO, Texas – Frito-Lay today announced a voluntary recall of select Rold Gold Tiny Twists, Rold Gold Thins, Rold Gold Sticks and Rold Gold Honey Wheat Braided due to a potential undeclared peanut allergen.

DENVER, CO. – Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. (“company”) is issuing a voluntary recall of limited lot codes of certain bar products. These products contain or may have come in contact with equipment that processed product containing sunflower seeds distributed by supplier SunOpta, Inc. that have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The Quaker Oats Company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., today announced a second voluntary recall of all Quaker® Quinoa Granola Bars, as a result of further sunflower kernel contamination found by ingredient supplier SunOpta.
On May 16, 2016, Quaker took the cautionary measure to issue the voluntary recall on a small quantity of their Quinoa Bars that were potentially impacted by sunflower kernels received from SunOpta that were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (L.mono).
Hostess Brands, LLC is voluntarily recalling 710,000 cases of select snack cakes and donuts as a direct result of the recent recall by our supplier, Grain Craft, of certain lots of its flour for undeclared peanut residue. Nature’s One of Lewis Center, OH is voluntarily recalling three lots of PediaSmart® Dairy Vanilla complete nutrition beverage powder packaged in 12.7 ounce cans, which bear the lot numbers located on the bottom of the can. This product is generally consumed by individuals between the ages of 13 months – 13 years old. The result of measuring product with the smaller scoop is that only 60% of the labeled nutritional content will be consumed per serving.
Brown & Haley of Tacoma, Washington is taking the precautionary measure of expanding its voluntary recall to include one additional lot of Mountain Thins “Trail Mix” flavor that may be impacted by sunflower seeds contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
