MANNA’s 2020-2021 Annual Report
Throughout yet another unprecedented year, MANNA has witnessed a consistent and overwhelming outpouring of support from our community. Thanks to you, our incredible community of volunteers and supporters, we were able to serve an average of 125,000 individuals every single month throughout our most recent fiscal year.
Over 2,400 individual volunteers dedicated more than 54,000 hours volunteering and working to ensure that our friends and neighbors across WNC had food when they needed it most. Thanks to the work of our volunteers and network, we were able to distribute over 25.5 million pounds of food to families throughout the 16 western most counties of North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary.
Knowing the important role nutrient-dense food has upon a person’s health and wellbeing, MANNA worked to make sure that we were distributing produce and healthy staples throughout WNC. In total, 25% of all food we distributed was fresh produce, and 67% of total food distribution was categorized as healthy staples.
