MANNA FoodBank has wrapped up another great year of our Nutrition Works initiatives, thanks to our partnership with and support from Mission Health Community Investment. The Nutrition Works program aims to to increase access to healthy foods for all Western North Carolinians in our 16 county service area by working with local clinics to identify and refer food insecure patients to healthy food resources, providing evidence-based nutritional programming to our partner network, and working to increase the amount of fresh, healthy food available in our inventory for all of our partner network. Combined, these efforts are supporting a paradigm shift in food availability, client’s food choices and education, and identifying people who need food support.
MANNA’s Nutrition Works program was a 2017 recipient of Community Investment funds from Mission Health. We are extremely grateful for our incredible partnership with Mission Health who has partnered with MANNA and other community-based programs and organizations that share our combined focus of addressing identified health needs in our region.
Thanks to this strategic partnership, we have increased access to nutritious food for those in need and are continuing to grow a culture of health and nutrition throughout MANNA’s network.
