Throughout WNC, MANNA has a network of over 200 partner agencies. These partners are often the final hands in the process of food distribution. They make sure members of their community have food to eat by distributing food directly to local families. One of our incredible partners is St. Vincent de Paul.
St. Vincent de Paul, which is a part of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, has been in operation for over 13 years and has been a MANNA partner since 2013. The food pantry offers a weekly pantry drive-thru, resources for houseless populations, diapers for families and nutritional resources for all of their clients. All of these services are offered in both English and Spanish to accommodate their local Latinx community.
Last month, St. Vincent de Paul served a total of 158 households with a total of 622 individuals.
The care that St. Vincent de Paul has for their neighbors is evident in all of the work they do. They are dedicated to making sure the food they are distributing is nutritious and that families picking up food have enough to last them a week. Knowing that the food pantry has many Latinx clients, they dedicate a lot of time and attention to making sure families are given culturally appropriate foods.
