MANNA's Special Events

Giving back to your community and helping a neighbor in need can be a lot of fun. MANNA holds two annual special events – The Blue Jean Ball is in June and Empty Bowls is in September.

For all of our events, we encourage the public to buy tickets and attend; you’ll find old and new friends there that care about hunger issues, just like you do. It is also a great way to learn which local business care enough to donate their resources for a great cause. Since nearly all of the food, supplies, talent, and space is donated, nearly all of the proceeds go toward MANNA’s mission: Involving, educating, and uniting people in the work to end hunger in Western North Carolina.

We do have smaller events throughout the year, tailored to specific programs and needs, as well as being the beneficiary of many fund-raisers, concerts, performances, cook-offs, tournaments, and many more myriad of creative fund raisers. MANNA cannot do the work of ending hunger alone, so we are forever grateful for the creative and energetic ways Western North Carolina supports our mission. If you are interested in holding a benefit for MANNA, please contact Alisa Hixson at

We do it for our neighbors in need, but giving can be a lot of fun!
