Three Among the Wolves
Thursday, May 13th 7:00 pm
Diana Wortham TheatreHelen Thayer, National Geographic explorer and photographer, will share her adventures from her best selling book, Three Among the Wolves.
The sight of a wolf has instilled fear in man from the beginning of time. These often misunderstood creatures are both beautiful and fascinating. Thayer and her husband Bill traveled above the Arctic Circle to the Canadian Yukon territory where they lived within 100 feet of a wild wolf den. In addition to the book, Three Among the Wolves is a motivational program comprised of rare photography from their year-long study of the wolf family. It is also a remarkable story of wolves in the true wild state, with their pup care, hunting, and social hierarchy explained.
After this program of amazing photography and adventure, Helen will be available for questions and a book signing in the theatre lobby.

The Spring into Action 5K was developed by the Junior League of Asheville as a part of a four day fundraising extravaganza that includes a Spring Market shopping event, a 5K, a Bunny Brunch and the Spring Soiree, a great party!
MISSION: The Junior League of Asheville is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
A non-profit in Asheville for 84 years, our volunteers are working on important issues such as: child abuse prevention, parenting education, ethics development for youth, advocacy for children and education and mentoring for pregnant teenagers and homeless women.
Our message is simple: TAKE A DAY, RUN A 5K AND HELP US BUILD A BETTER COMMUNITY!
Funds raised will go to support all the important aspects of the mission of the Junior League of Asheville, NC. This year our community partners are: Girls on the Run and MANNA FoodBank.
