The Youth of WNC are Making A Difference!

The future leaders of WNC are not waiting around to make a difference in our community, they’re taking action right now to help End Hunger in WNC.
The Asheville Youth Mission held their first ever Midnight at MANNA event on February 1. 100 youth and leaders filled our warehouse and showed us how a work party is done! They bagged about 40,000 lbs of apples that will be distributed across Western North Carolina. The event was held from 9pm-1am and it looks like more than a little fun was had -the food and LIVE MUSIC kept them fueled up and rockin’ out! Thanks so much to all the teens, sponsors and organizers. We hope Asheville Youth Mission parties with us again!
Then there’s The Student Food Drive is taking place in schools all over MANNA’s 16 county service area. Last year they raised over 33 thousand pounds of food or enough food for 27,591 meals! Check out the gallery below for some pics from the kick off party.
The youth are building a strong WNC – help support them. Look to see if your local school or alma mater is holding a food and fund drive now (for a list of schools, click here) . Their enthusiasm is contagious and you’re sure to feel great after your donation is made. Welcome to the youth becoming a part of MANNA’s family and thanks to all of you that makes this annual drive possible!:/articles/2014-student-food-drive/
